MANICURE MUSE: Celine AW’12
Celine’s Fall collection is much like her highly coveted shopper tote: sculptural, elegant and stripped to the basic elements of design. Strong geometric elements with rounded shoulder lines, ankle cropped pants and soft leather detailing spoke in unison with the stark setting of the show. My favorite piece is this round-shouldered chic geometric overcoat.
To emulate, I used Cadogan Square by Nails Inc and Red, Royal Blue, Black and White Nail Art Duos by Color Club.
To get these ladyfingers:
1. Start with a full nude nail
2. Divide your nail in half with a black nail art brush
3. Paint a thin red line towards the top of your nail reaching the black line
4. Repeat by painting a blue line beneath the red
5. Fill in the black square on the bottom left portion of your nail
6. Paint a white thin triangle with the point reaching the center of the nail
7. Outline the other side of your white triangle with your black
8. Fill in the portion next to the white triangle with black filling in the top right portion of your nail
9. Top it off with top coat!

Manicure Muse: Addison AW’12
When it comes to translating fashion into nail art, I’m always drawn to graphic prints. The bolder, the better [my motto]. With that said, this Addison dress makes for the perfect muse.
To emulate, I used Baker Street by Nails Inc. and Color Club’s black nail art brush.
To get these ladyfingers:
1. Paint your full nail blue
2. Using a black nail art brush draw a line just above a French tip
3. Outline a triangle with the tip facing the right side of your nail
4. Fill in accordingly and seal with top coat

Manicure Muse: Boushie Sandal by Nine West
It’s always my pleasure to bring runway fashion directly to your ladyfingers, but let’s be real— there’s only so many splurges a fashionista can make. That’s why I’m excited to present a look that won’t break the bank, but will still keep you on trend. The Boushie sandal from the #flashingourbrights collection is bright and perfect for summer. Get the Boushie sandal here.
To emulate, I used Mitzi by Zoya, Notting Hill by Nails Inc, L’Orange by L’Oreal, Carnaby Street by Nails Inc, True Blue by Orly Instant Artist and Blue Collar by Orly.

MANICURE MUSE: Honor AW’12
We all know who to turn to for epic wins season after season (I’m looking at you, Prabal), but they all had to start somewhere, right? Half the fun of NYFW is checking out the newbies on the scene, so, with that, let me introduce Honor designed by Giovanna Randall. This collection makes Honor’s third season and there’s no end in sight. Standout looks included the wool crepe dress series, a floral printed sheer gown and high-collared svelte jackets. While my favorite look was the drop-waisted sheer organza dress, this look was Miss Ladyfinger eye candy I simply could not pass up.
To emulate, I used Mitzi by Zoya and a black nail art brush.
To get these ladyfingers:
1. Paint your nail lime green
2. Tape around the outside of your nail
3. Using a black nail art brush, paint short strokes (on one side of your nail) horizontally towards the center of your nail
4. Repeat for the other side
5. Paint a black line down the center of your nail using the same short strokes as before horizontally
6. Top it off with Seche Vite Top Coat

MANICURE MUSE: DSquared² AW’12
Need a date to the prom anyone? Better claim one of the DSquared² models quick, because these ladies are the definition of cool. Staged as a High School prom (complete with disco balls), the DSquared² show concluded Milan Fashion Week with an early 1960s vibe. The models donned bouffant hairdos, pointy-toed pumps and sunglasses that are heading straight to the top of my “must-have” list. This look in particular is the perfect mix of 60s edge with modern day flair.
To recreate, I used Soul Mate by Essie, Papaya Punch by China Glaze and a white nail art brush.
To get these ladyfingers:
1. Visually divide your nail into thirds- use tape if it helps
2. Paint the top third of your nail a dark maroon
3. Paint the middle portion of your nail marigold
4. Paint the bottom third of your nail the same dark maroon
5. Using a white nail art brush, paint a line of white where the colors intersect
6. Make another white line halfway through the middle of the marigold portion
7. Apply a white line at the very top of your nail following your cuticle curve
8. Fix any mess around the cuticle
9. Top it off with Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat

MANICURE MUSE: Marni for H&M
Ever since the Marni for H&M collaboration was announced, the countdown to March has been painfully slow. Luckily, we’re in the homestretch. The collaboration finally hits stores March 8th. The complete lookbook has already gone viral giving us much to look forward to (I’ll take one of everything, please). Even better that everything is reasonably priced with most pieces under $100.
I used Urban Purple by Rimmel London, Summer Peach by American Apparel and Stolen Sapphires by Topshop.
To get these Ladyfingers:
1. Paint your full nail a burgundy color
2. Using a dotter tool- I used Orly’s Dotter Duo tool (available here)- make two rows of peach dots across the middle of your nail
3. Make a line of vertical dots aligning with a column dots you made on the right side of your nail
4. Clean your dotter tool and start again dotting with dark blue. Create a dotted vertical line on either side of your peach vertical line
5. Clean your tool again and apply more peach dots at the top and bottom of your nail
6. Seal off with top coat and voila!

MANICURE MUSE: Custo Barcelona AW’12
“It’s a fusion of colors, graphics and materials,” said Custo Dalmau of his eclectic Fall collection. There was no shortage of everything under the sun. The collection included fringe, fur, sequins, prints, lame and leather (say that three times fast), but somehow it all worked. Eye-popping color radiated off the models, who were an after-thought to the clothes. Shown here is my favorite look from the show.
To recreate, I used Case Study by Essie, Royal by Love & Beauty, Blingtastic Gem Crush by Sally Hansen, and White and Black by Color Club.
To get these Ladyfingers:
1. Start with a taupe colored base
2. Apply a line of metallic blue down the center of your nail
3. Once dry, layer blue glitter on top of the blue line
4. Using a white nail art brush, draw two lines on either side of your nail
5. Using a black nail art brush, apply two small diagonal lines on either side of the blue connecting to the white vertical lines
6. Fill in a small amount of black at the very top on either side of the blue
7. Top it off with Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat

MANICURE MUSE: Prada Spring ‘12
Well, it was about time the infamous Pink Lady uniform be reinvented… thanks to Prada’s Spring collection. For the Rizzos of the world, turn to the crop tops and leather pencil skirts with hot rod decals. And for wholesome Sandys, Prada serves up pleated frocks in frothy colors. Too many things excite me about this collection. You can definitely look forward to another Prada-inspired Miss Ladyfinger feature…
To emulate this look, I used World’s End by Topshop and Mimosa by Chanel:
1. Paint your whole nail light blue
2. Paint a stroke of yellow, starting from 1/4 of the nail down slightly diagonal
3. Paint another diagonal in the other direction
4. Round out the yellow curves with a small brush
5. Use a black nail art pen to follow the curves of the yellow polish leaving a space of light blue in between
6. Top it off with Seche Vite’s Fast Dry Top Coat and voila!

MANICURE MUSE: Rachel Comey Spring ‘12
Well, its not the coast of Fiji… but Rachel Comey’s landscape sheath dress will certainly take you away. For Spring ‘12, photo transfers came into play along with color-blocking in sweet hues by way of floaty dresses. To recreate, I used Cotton by American Apparel, Dove by Zoya, Blue Collar by Orly, and a black nail art pen.

MANICURE MUSE: Chanel Couture Fall ‘11
Holiday nails are a big commitment. They need to make a statement without stealing the show. It is, after all, my sequined dress’s big day. While Dolce & Gabbana’s Fall ‘11 star motif was a close runner up, for me, Chanel Haute Couture Fall ‘11 makes for the perfect holiday nail. This look is one of my favorites with the structure on top into the floaty bottom. Not to mention the sultry mesh veils… DIY project, anyone? Pictured here: “Got My Groove Back” by Ginger+Liz and Liquid Vinyl by Orly.
